Hand carved wooden swan pendant made from curly maple wood and finished with hard wax oil. The graceful design celebrates the elegance of one of nature's most beautiful birds while showcasing the remarkable figure of naturally patterned maple burl. Curly maple is a rather difficult wood to work with. But my efforts were worth it, because when well polished, this wood has a very beautiful natural pattern and a light shade. It seemed to me that this is the ideal wood for a swan. The flowers and beak are painted with acrylic paint. It looks quite romantic. On the back of the pendant, I carved a single feather—a timeless symbol of grace, freedom, hope, and lightness. It serves as a quiet detail known only to the wearer, making the necklace feel even more personal.
