Stag beetle pendant (oak)

Wooden stag beetle pendant carved from natural bog oak. Covered with hard wax oil. The stag beetle is known for its distinctive antler-like mandibles, which give the insect its powerful and dramatic appearance. These characteristic features are carefully carved by hand, creating a small sculptural pendant with natural character and texture. The wood is polished to a smooth finish that highlights the grain and warmth of the material. I made several of these beetles, all based on the same sketch. Each pendant is slightly unique due to the handmade process and the natural variations in the wood.
