Yellow chameleon necklace

Wooden chameleon necklace hand carved from mulberry wood, with an eye made from a boxwood branch, finished with hard wax oil. The natural yellow colour of the wood, with its clearly defined annual rings, is a work of art in its own right. The image of a chameleon simply sprang to mind as I looked at this piece of vibrant wood, which has a character all of its own. The brown line on the wood fitted the design perfectly. All the colours and patterns you see on the piece are entirely natural. I merely added a touch of greenish pigment to the chameleon’s back and eye. The piece has been crafted with attention to detail; I have carefully carved all the features of this creature – its face, paws and tail. After a thorough polish, the wood revealed all its nuances, which I sealed with an oil-wax finish. Over time, the piece may develop deeper shades and become more vibrant if it is frequently exposed to sunlight. This piece is suitable for both everyday wear and special occasions.
