Owlets family pendant

Owl family necklace hand carved from jojoba wood, covered with hard wax oil. The black pupils in the eyes are made from a buffalo horn plate. The piece is carved from a single block of wood.

I was inspired to create this piece whilst looking through photographs of owlets in one of the popular birdwatcher magazines. Three little owlets are perched in a hollow, peering out at the world with curiosity. I found this scene incredibly touching. The little birds are just beginning their lives; their eyes do not yet have the predatory look of adult birds, only curiosity and innocence. I paid a great deal of attention to the texture of the wood around the hollow to make it look as natural as possible. Thanks to my well-honed carving skills, the piece turned out quite realistic, yet with a touch of charm that I love to include, thereby expressing my love for nature. Here is a scene from the life of wild birds, which you can wear as a pendant or an accessory to complement your outfit. Wear it every day or on special occasions, display it on a bookshelf, or come up with another way to celebrate your love of owls with my creation! Either way, it will last you for many years.
