Medusa gorgon necklace

$40.00

Hand carved Medusa Gorgon pendant made from peach wood and finished with protective acrylic varnish. This large sculptural pendant is inspired by the ancient Gorgon figure from Greek mythology and designed as a bold piece of wearable mythological art. This is my interpretation of Medusa—not as a monster, but as a woman whose story has been told through fear for far too long. I carved her with a calm, thoughtful expression instead of a threatening gaze. Her snakes are no longer symbols of horror. They shimmer in shades of green with silvery highlights, flowing around her like living jewelry rather than a curse. A golden necklace rests across her chest, completing the image of a figure whose strength lies in quiet dignity rather than intimidation. I wanted to preserve the unmistakable elements of the ancient myth while allowing myself the freedom to see Medusa through my own artistic lens. Mythology evolves each time it is retold, and this pendant is my conversation with that timeless story. The pendant is carved entirely by hand. The green serpents are individually detailed to create texture across the surface. The acrylic finish enhances the depth of color while protecting the hand painted details.

This statement pendant is designed for people drawn to mythology inspired jewelry, dark feminine aesthetics, symbolic art, tribal influences, and expressive handcrafted accessories. It can be worn as a personal talisman, collector piece, or sculptural fashion object.
