Kakapo necklace

$40.00

Hand carved wooden kakapo necklace made from mulberry wood and finished with hard wax oil. This pendant is inspired by the kakapo, one of the world's rarest parrots, a remarkable flightless bird native to New Zealand. The natural golden tone of mulberry wood complements the kakapo's distinctive plumage, making it an ideal material for this carving. Each feather, contour, and facial detail is individually carved by hand using traditional woodworking tools. Natural pigments are used to recreate the bird's characteristic colors. The pendant is fully shaped and detailed by hand, then carefully polished to a smooth finish. The back features a flat polished surface with my signature. The kakapo is known for its unusual appearance, gentle character, and conservation story, making it especially beloved among bird enthusiasts and wildlife lovers. This pendant celebrates one of nature's most extraordinary birds through artisan craftsmanship and natural materials. This necklace is designed for bird lovers, wildlife enthusiasts, collectors of handmade nature-inspired jewelry, and people who appreciate rare and fascinating animal species.
